Below, you'll find samples of my work in Public Relations, including links to social media profiles, public relations campaigns, and marketing materials.
Adult Learner & Veteran Services
Public Relations:
As the Public Relations Coordinator, it was my job to create and maintain an open-door atmosphere of acceptance in order to promote the learning and academic experience of Adult Learners, Student Veterans and Student Parents. I did this through regular communication with students and university staff, event planning and media relations.
After doing research both independently and with a marketing team, I was able to develop a public relations campaign to launch the rebrand of the office.
Part of my duties as the Public Relations Coordinator is to maintain and update the office's social media platforms and website. ALVS has a presence on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as a website. In addition, I also ran a Facebook page dedicated to students with children of their own.
Similarly, it's my job to over see and arrange all interactions with the media on behalf of the office, such as the coverage of one of the office's annual 5K races:
Communication:
Aside from social media, ALVS also employs a bi-weekly newsletter to communicate with students. Each cycle, I compose, edited, designed, and sent the newsletter to 2,000+ recipients.
The final part of being a Public Relations Coordinator is participating in event planning. Below are some photos (taken by Sean Philbrick) of several the events. My job is to make sure that all parts of the events are up to the standard of the ALVS office and are in alignment with the values of the office. Event planning was largely centered on an annual 5K and Military Ball.
SALUTE National Honor Society
Special Media Relations Advisor:
My duties for SALTUE National Honor Society include advising the organization's coordinator on their Facebook presence. I also create a newsletter — similar to the one above — for SALUTE.
Colorado State University Health Network
With a team of fellow journalists, I had the opportunity to create a public relations campaign for the Colorado State University's Health Network. My team and I contributed several ideas that were implemented by the Health Network.
As the Communications Manager for Brel's Custom Painting, it was my job to manage social media accounts, regulate online advertising and create incentive for utilizing the painting and home improvement services.
